The 29th United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Conference of Parties (COP 28) will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan from November 11-24, 2024. The COP, representing 197 countries, is where international climate agreements to prevent anthropogenic climate change are forged.

The University of Michigan has sent a delegation to the COP since 2009. We plan to form a delegation to COP29 (both undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to apply). Student delegates will gain tangible skills and exposure to global policy-making, expand their personal networks, and be a part of a global movement attempting to address anthropogenic climate change. This info-session will focus on application tips, funding updates (really great ones), and an introduction to Climate Blue.
