Across the country there has been a growing number of well-coordinated attacks against diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives in higher education. As of March 2024, 80 anti-DEI bills have been introduced in 24 states. Eight have become law, 9 have final legislative approval, while 30 have been tabled, failed to pass, or vetoed.
