The University at Albany School of Public Health prepares students tohelp improve lives and protect the health of communities through education, promotion of healthy lifestyles, and research for disease and injury prevention.

A one of a kind partnership with the New York State Department of Health provides students the opportunity to help address public health problems as they occur, while networking in the field. Students may concentrate their public health studies in biomedical sciences, environmental health sciences, epidemiology, biostatistics, health policy and management, or behavioral sciences, or public health practice. Additional opportunities are available through graduate certificates in public health, global health, health disparities, surveillance and preparedness, maternal and child health, and HIV studies.

We offer the most extensive practice-based public health internship program in the nation, requiring 720 hours of direct experience in a variety of work settings, providingin-depth training and a well-prepared graduate for the workforce.
