This event is part of the Occupational Health Speaker Series. U-M School of Nursing's Dr. Christopher Friese will discuss Nurses' Exposure to Cancer Chemo
The health hazards of workers who handle antineoplastic agents are well-known, yet little is known regarding the contextual factors that increase the risk of exposure. This seminar will review the results of a pilot study to measure and characterize occupational exposure to antineoplastics for nursing personnel employed in ambulatory oncology settings, where up to 80% of cancer care is delivered. Policy and research implications for this high-volume, high-risk setting will be discussed.
All interested persons are welcome to attend.
