Want to experience Indian Classical Arts for free? SPIC MACAY at the University of Michigan, a student organization, promotes Indian culture and music, and holds concerts by prominent Indian artists artists for free.

About the artist and the event:

Kasturi is a disciple of the renowned vocalist Mrs. Arati Ankalikar-Tikekar. Under her watchful eyes and systematic training, Kasturi has matured into a confident singer with a well-seasoned melodious voice, aesthetic renditions of different Raag structures, a good command of different musical embellishments like gamaks, taans, meends, etc. Along with Khayals, Kasturi is at ease with light musical genres like Dadras, Bhajans etc. as well. She has featured in a number of stage programmes and recordings in and around Pune and her performances have been appreciated on many music platforms.

Side-Note: Smt. Kasturi Paigude has also been kind enough to hold a Naadyog Session at the Henderson Room, Michigan League, Central Campus, from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM on February 10th, Sunday, which is the following day to the above mentioned event. For those who have not heard about Naadyog before; Naadyog is the practice and experience of musical sounds that elevate, heal and balance us on a very practical and scientific level of self exploration. Each jap or repetition of these sacred sounds helps us open up our inner channels to the divine energy.
