2024 Purple Run
5K Fun Run and Walk
The Annual Purple Run is an exciting collaboration between the University of Michigan Police Department, the Ann Arbor Police Department, the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office, and SafeHouse Center to bring our community together while highlighting the prevalence of Domestic Violence. In Washtenaw County, law enforcement and advocates work very closely with one another and, whether it is on active cases or community events, we are actively engaged in protecting and safe-guarding the public.
The proceeds raised during this 5k fun run benefit SafeHouse Center, which is an organization within Washtenaw County that is working to build a community free of domestic violence and sexual assault. SafeHouse Center provides support for those impacted by domestic violence or sexual assault by providing free and confidential services for any person victimized that lives or works in Washtenaw County. Their services include emergency shelter for those in danger of being hurt or killed, counseling, legal advocacy, support groups, and especially, hope.
The Purple Run is much more than a fundraiser. Our goal is to raise awareness about Domestic Violence and to help the community recognize this issue affects all of us. There is strength in numbers, and we are so excited that you want to join us and make a statement to survivors that there is support in our community.
Every 60 seconds, 20 people are subject to inter-partner violence. Let’s work together to bring this number down! We’re running domestic violence out of town.

Cost
- Pricing: All runners registered prior to October 12, 2024 will receive a race t-shirt and a completion souvenir. T-shirts MUST be picked up by the end of morning registration prior to the run. You will not be able to pick up your shirt after the run or if you do not attend the event. Though we will make our best effort to provide t-shirts and souvenirs to those who register after this date, we can make no guarantees. $5 off Student Runners, $35 Adult Runner, $40 Day-Of Registration, Children under 12 are welcome free of charge! (note: if your child would like to receive a t-shirt and a souvenir, they must be registered as a Student Runner.)
