Whether you’re looking for an internship or searching for job opportunities, learn how to craft a resumé and cover letter that potential employers look at longer.

This workshop will include workshop facilitation, independent work, and an online Canvas module activity. Combined, you’ll work at your own pace as you practice translating your strengths and experiences into an effectively constructed résumé and cover letter. Please plan on bringing your current version of your resume, if applicable, and a laptop to access the LSA canvas website and modules! If you will not have access to a working laptop but still want to participate, contact the Hub at lsa.hubevents@umich.edu.

You should attend this workshop if you are:

A liberal arts and/or sciences student

Searching for ways to effectively communicate and frame your experience on a résumé

Applying for a job, internship, or interested in learning more about resume building and development

Please bring a charged laptop with you if possibler

By attending the workshop, you will:

Learn the nuts and bolts of résumé formatting, layout, editing best practices, and bullet development

Learn the differences between a résumé and CV in the United States

Understand the value of having a primary résumé as well as 1-2 tailored résumés, targeted for specific opportunities or industries/audiences

Work independently on starting or updating your current résumé
