Crafting Your Professional Narrative
Career Preparation for History (and Other Humanities) Students
Join us for the first in a series of career-focused workshops for history (and other humanities) students, led by the LSA Opportunity Hub! Lunch will be provided.
How can you turn your academic strengths and undergraduate experiences into a compelling career narrative? In this workshop, we will explore the core components of a professional narrative—from your elevator pitch to master resume. We will work together to identify and communicate the skills and knowledge that employers, graduate programs, and other professionals find valuable.
Together, we will reflect on experiences that have been important to you and develop strategies to support your next steps. As a history student, you’ve honed skills in research, critical thinking, and storytelling—now it’s time to show employers their value.
This workshop will address questions like:
• What is a professional narrative?
• How can you communicate the value of your history major?
• What counts as experience, and how do you include my varied undergraduate experiences on your resume?
Registration required: https://forms.gle/XfaxjwUMXmcoeWFk9
