Luis von Ahn is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University. He is the founder of the company reCAPTCHA and is known as one of the pioneers of the idea of crowdsourcing. Professor von Ahn's research includes CAPTCHAs and human computation and has earned him international recognition and numerous honors. He is currently working on Duolingo, a project that aims to coordinate millions of people to translate the Web into every major language.
