Since 1931, the Hopwood Awards Program has given almost 5,000 awards to approximately 3,300 writers, for a total of $5,936,635 in prize winnings (and growing). The Hopwood Awards Program has been credited with launching many student writers' careers in the arts, and in attracting already-talented writers to attend the University of Michigan. All University of Michigan students are invited and eligible!
