Towards a Resilient and Equitable Water Future: Addressing Water Quality Challenges in a Changing Climate
Global climate change may impose serious consequences on water quality due to increased precipitation and higher temperatures, which can affect the transport and transformation of aquatic pollutants. The influence of weather and climate on water quality can be uneven and unequitable because of the changing climate pattern and its complex relationship with pollutant sources and transport factors over space and time. In this talk, I will introduce my research on how the interplay of climate change, watershed development, and socioeconomic factors influence surface water quality and the associated ecosystem services. I will also introduce how I use a landscape architecture perspective to create a resilient and equitable water environment through possible landscape design and community engagement approaches.
