Attend the December session of our monthly Kelsey Book Club! This event is open to all adults who have an interest in fiction, mythology, and the ancient world. Learn more about this program at https://myumi.ch/Drn1Q.

Nataly Gruender’s debut novel Medusa (2024) offers “an intimate look into the life of a legendary mythical villain who has so often been stripped of her voice and humanity.” Medusa’s life is forever altered following a horrific violation by Poseidon. Transformed by Athena into a serpent-haired monster whose gaze turns onlookers to stone, Medusa flees across Greece—finding solace in the gods and creatures she meets along the way. But she cannot outrun her fate indefinitely: as Perseus approaches, Medusa must choose between her monstrous destiny and her lingering humanity.

Join us in Room 125 of Newberry Hall for an evening of community and conversation led by Chloe Morris, a PhD candidate in the Interdepartmental Program in Ancient Mediterranean Art and Archaeology. Light refreshments will be served. Register for this event at https://forms.gle/HYARnScRLnMKD6PB8 by Thursday, December 5, 2024.
