Anti-Racism Collaborative Lunch and Q&A featuring Dr. Antonio Cuyler

Anti-Racism Lunch and Q&A featuring Dr. Antonio Cuyler

The Anti-Racism Collaborative at the National Center for Institutional Diversity (NCID) is thrilled to introduce our new UM Scholar Lunch and Q&A series! Our inaugural session will feature Dr. Antonio Cuyler, a distinguished Professor of Music in Entrepreneurship & Leadership at the University of Michigan's School of Music, Theatre & Dance (SMTD) and a Faculty Associate in the African Studies Center.
Dr. Cuyler's research spans arts entrepreneurship, leadership, creative justice, cultural policy, and experiential learning, with a strong focus on advocating for creative justice for marginalized communities. He has made significant contributions through his writings on diversity and inclusion in the arts, including the notable work "Access, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Cultural Organizations." Additionally, he founded Cuyler Consulting, LLC, to assist cultural organizations in enhancing access, diversity, equity, and inclusion. As a first-generation college student, Dr. Cuyler has also held prominent faculty roles at institutions like Florida State University, where he became the first Black man to earn promotion and tenure in arts administration.
Join us for this engaging event on Monday, November 4, at the NCID office located at 530 E. Liberty Street.
Lunch will be served starting at 12:30 p.m., followed by a Q&A session with Dr. Cuyler from 1:00-2:00 p.m., facilitated by Dr. Alford Young, Jr., ARC Faculty Director.
This session offers a unique opportunity for members of the Anti-Racism Collaborative and those dedicated to anti-racism scholarship to hear about Dr. Cuyler's upcoming manuscript, Achieving Creative Justice in the U. S. Creative Sector, and learn why he continues to be passionately engaged in social justice work and how he navigates public impact and relations outside the University.
*Please note that we are limiting attendance to the first 15 guests who register. If you register and can no longer make it, please withdraw your registration or notify us as soon as you can. Don't miss this chance to engage directly with a leading voice in arts entrepreneurship and social justice.
