Step Up Speak out: A Panel for Domestic Violence Awareness Month featuring Congresswoman Dingell
Interested in gender equity or intimate partner violence prevention? Students Against Domestic Abuse will host Congresswoman Debbie Dingell and a panel of local experts on domestic violence and gender equity for Domestic Violence awareness month. Congresswoman Debbie Dingell is Ann Arbor's representative in Congress and a legislator that has repeatedly fought to bring attention to domestic violence on the national stage. She will be joined by panelists including, Anne Huhman, the Director of the UM Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center (SAPAC), Christine Watson, Executive Director of SafeHouse, Elizabeth Seney, UM Director of Gender Equity and Title IX Coordinator, and Samara Hough, Director UM Flint Center for Gender and Sexuality. This will be an amazing chance to hear from individuals doing critical work on domestic violence and gender policy in political, non-profit, and academic fields and make your voice heard on the issues that matter to you. There will be an opportunity for audience questions at the end of the panel. It will take place on Tuesday, October 22nd, from 3-4pm in Weill Hall Room 1210. RSVP here if interested in attending.
