ABOUT SAM NOVELL-REGESTER SEXTET: Currently in the U-M Masters of Improvisation program, Sam Novell-Regester is a Detroit-based trombonist with experience performing with many of the top players in the area and beyond. This group focuses mainly on music from the Hard Bop era, with specific influences such as the Curtis Fuller Sextet and Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers.
