The Life Sciences Orchestra, a Gifts of Art program, was founded in the fall of 2000 by a small group of musicians and artists at the U-M Medical School and Health System to provide a performance outlet for the many faculty, staff, students, and volunteers in life science disciplines at the university who had previous musical training but few opportunities to play. For its thirteenth spring season concert, with Hill Auditorium celebrating its 100th anniversary, the LSO will perform pieces by Mussorgsky, Ravel and Strauss.
