AI & Aging: Innovations & Challenges for Global Health
AI Lab & eHAIL Roundtable Conversations
Please note: space is limited. Please apply to attend through the RSVP form
As advances in healthcare and standards of living continue to improve, life expectancy is increasing and countries worldwide are experiencing a demographic shift towards older populations. This shift brings many challenges and opportunities related to healthcare, wellbeing, and productivity. While healthy aging is as much a concern in the Global South as it is in the Global North, available data sources have historically tended to be restricted to the latter. This has caused a disparity in our understanding of global aging. New datasets from MICDA will help U-M researchers better understand the challenges and opportunities in both the Global South as well as the Global North so that we can begin to address these issues globally.
Join the Michigan AI Lab and the e-Health and Artificial Intelligence (eHAIL) program for an in-person discussion on the opportunities and challenges of AI-powered tools and approaches to enable healthy aging globally. U-M researchers working in aging & health will briefly present on new data sources & projects.
Table discussions with domain experts in health, aging, survey research & artificial intelligence will form the core of the event. Participants are encouraged to bring their own topics, problems, and innovations, to discuss opportunities and challenges in using AI approaches for healthy aging globally.
