Our film series begins with a historical cycle of three films centered on major breaks in Japanese history. The first film, Sekigahara, describes the Battle of Sekigahara in 1600. This dramatic conflict marked the end of the Warring States period and the beginning of the Tokugawa Shogunate. The narrative explores the political struggles leading up to this significant event, in which Tokugawa Ieyasu’s Army of the East defeated Ishida Mitsunari’s Army of the West. It highlights the intrigues and shifting loyalties among various retainers, family members, and samurai involved in the conflict.
Presented in Japanese with English subtitles. Read more about the film, including ratings, at http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5954284/
