World music superstars Amadou and Mariam, affectionately know as the “Blind Couple from Mali,” met in the orchestra of The Institute for the Young Blind in Bamako. Since then, their magical fusion of Malian blues, rock, pop, and traditional West African music has won them fans around the world. In recent years, their collaborations with Manu Chao, Scissor Sisters, and stadium tours opening for Coldplay and U2 have spread their infectious music far and wide.
