From Sheep to Sweater: a Hands-on Wool Processing Demo & Workshop
Michigan Fibershed

Are you curious about how your clothes are made? Every wool sweater starts with a sheep. Come learn all about it at our hands-on wool processing event! A professional will guide us as we process our wool into yarn. Take home what you make (and take home more wool to practice with!). Snacks and drinks provided!
The event will include:
- brief presentation about wool clothing and processing basics
- live demo of wool processing tools (hand carders, picking, hand spinning, and wheel spinning)
- hands-on wool processing activities
- examples of raw unwashed wool and wool yarns, hats, scarves, sweaters, and amigurumi
- clean wool to take home wool and practice, plus a guide on how to make your own hand-spinner out of chop-sticks
- snacks and drinks!
