Director of Disability Equity & ADA Coordinator Allison Kushner and Senior Accessibility Specialist Erin Metz are presenting at the Maize X Blue Conference. Their workshop will cover practical strategies for fostering disability-inclusive virtual and hybrid events at all event planning stages, including save-the-dates, venue selection considerations, and accessible communication techniques to integrate into any event planning process. From checklists to best practices, participants will learn how to plan and execute accessible events going beyond accommodation basics. Participants will also learn about inclusive communication techniques and how to leverage accessible surveys to seek feedback from attendees to improve event accessibility continuously.

Maize X Blue ("maize by blue") is the all-day conference for U-M marketers and communicators hosted by the Office of the Vice President for Communications and held at the Ross School of Business. This is an opportunity to reconnect in person and be inspired by our diverse community of U-M colleagues sharing current trends, best practices, and innovative solutions for our higher ed environment. There is a registration fee for the conference.
