Title: Amateur Radio Open House at the University of Michigan
Date: Saturday, June 28, 2025. 2:00-5:00 pm (Weather Permitting)
Location: NC-26 Parking Lot across from the Ford Motor Company Robotics Center, Hubbard Road
The University of Michigan Amateur Radio Club Field Day participation is an annual communications event that brings together amateur radio operators from across North America. During this event, “ham” radio operators will introduce the public to the excitement of amateur radio while highlighting the importance of radio communications. Temporary radio stations will be set up to allow visitors the opportunity to view the various radio equipment and antennas, speak with university members, learn how to obtain your first radio license and the impact of weather on radio communication. Visitors can experience amateur radio, firsthand, by taking the microphone and talk to other radio stations. This event is open to all age groups and serves as an excellent introduction to the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
