
Eighth-generation Alabamian Jason Isbell grew up in Greenhill, Alabama, near Muscle Shoals. Music ran deep in his family and surroundings. In 1996 Jason joined the Drive-By Truckers, leaving amicably and releasing his first solo album, "Sirens of the Ditch," in 2007. Since then he has amassed an impressive body of songs about ordinary people. many in his home state of Alabama. He has focused on the struggles of military veterans, factory workers, and people trapped in frustrating jobs or relationships, all the while keeping the Southern rock roots of his music intact. Jason comes to Michigan with a brand new release, "Southeastern."
