Black Bottom Archives is a living community archive centering the voices and experiences of Black Detroiters by preserving local Black history and archiving the present. Come learn about Sankofa Community Research—a Black Detroiter-led, multi-year project with Detroit People's Platform, U-M, and Wayne State—documenting the lasting impact of Black Bottom and Paradise Valley’s destruction and exploring a collective vision for reparations through the I-375 Reconnecting Communities Project.
