Katherine Moynihan and Jack Minor, Office of Technology Transfer

Katie Moynihan and Jack Minor from U-M's Office of Technology Transfer (OTT) provide a general overview of OTT and discuss their work with licensing and startups. They also talk about how OTT reconciles their role with the movement toward open access, when a researcher should contact them, and more. The mission of OTT is to “effectively transfer University technologies to the market so as to generate benefits for the University, the community, and the general public.”

Katherine Moynihan is a Licensing and Market Specialist in OTT. She is responsible for facilitating the development and release of University mobile apps, overseeing incoming and outgoing Material Transfer Agreements, managing the Tech Transfer Fellows Program, and marketing the portfolio of technologies developed at U-M for commercialization.

Jack Minor is a Senior Business Formation Specialist in OTT. He focuses on business formation around physical sciences intellectual property.
