Drop by the raised beds behind the Natural History Museum as the Grounds team installs the newest prairie planting on Central Campus. Informational tabling will share about campus-wide efforts to install native prairie plantings and pollinator gardens in support of sustainable grounds goals. There will be a chance to get your "hands in the dirt" and help plant a few seedlings.
Join us at 12:00PM noon for a short, informal talk from Grounds and LSA. This is an overview of the collaboration that led to this plot, selected plants, and future programs.
This group of three raised beds, adding up to 15,000 square feet, was previously turf grass but is now being converted into a high-visibility pollinator garden through volunteer events like this!
In case of rain, the event will be rescheduled to June 26th.
Location: Raised beds behind the Museum of Natural History (UMMNH) and Mary Sue Coleman Hall
