George Bedard: Ragtime to Rock-n-Roll
Ann Arbor's resident guitar genius George Bedard just keeps getting more creative as he goes along. Lately he's been exploring the links between rock guitar styles and the music of the pre-rock past, and tonight's show brings a new album, "Further On," and a new show that delves into ragtime, some acoustic blues, New Orleans jazz, classic swing, jump blues, Chicago blues, and early rock āĖnā roll. George has put together an incredible new band for this project, featuring D.C. keyboardist Daryl Davis, Michigan trumpeter and composer Ingrid Racine, Detroit bassist and jazz veteran Pat Prouty, Macpodz guitar wildman Brennan Andes, Detroit bop and post-bop saxophonist Steve Wood, and garage rock drummer extraordinaire Rich Dishman. An extraordinary, one-of-a-kind show from Michigan's true virtuoso of the guitar!
