Storytelling in Action: From Campus to Content with U-M Alums in the Film Industry
Ever wonder how stories make it to the big screen—and why brands like McDonald’s and Amazon care about telling them? Join U-M alums Noah Malale (Sport Management ‘13) of Amazon Sports and Brad Roth (English ‘90), President of Known Originals, for a behind-the-scenes look at how the McDonald’s All-American Game—a high school basketball showcase—became the subject of a major Amazon documentary. You’ll learn about why skills like storytelling and writing matter in film careers, and how you can intentionally lean into your LSA curriculum and resources during your time on campus.
This session is a must for students curious about media, branding, sports, or storytelling. There's no industry like the media industry when it comes to the need for networking so come practice talking to experts in the field.
