Kelsey Book Club | The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller
Lauren Alberti, IPAMAA

The Kelsey Book Club returns with a new batch of myth retellings, archaeology-inspired originals, and expert moderators! Our first session of the academic year will center around The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller (2011). This sweeping, lyrical novel recounts the story of the Trojan War from the perspective of Achilles’ lover, Patroclus. Following the characters from boyhood to the shores of Troy, The Song of Achilles grapples with “gods and kings, peace and glory, immortal fame and the human heart.”
