Gifts of Art presents Traditional, World & Avant Garde Jazz
Global Jazz Project

Mark Hershberger, leader of Global Jazz Project and jazz performer and composer for over 40 years, describes the group's music as a mix of free and innovative jazz with traditional jazz roots and world music influences. They play with a unique combination of conga, sax, piano and bass, playing jazz "inside and out." For this concert, performers Mark Hershberger (tenor sax, soprano sax, alto sax), Jerry LeDuff (udu, surdo, percussion, ocarinas, ethnic woodwinds, cuica, congas, bongos, berimbau), Alina Morr (piano, keyboards), Chad Sturdivant (drums) and Dave Sharp (bass) create the universal jazz of the Global Jazz Project, which is a part of the UMHS Summer Courtyard Concert Series presented by Gifts of Art. Their latest release, Mother Nature, is now available on iTunes.
