About:
Leni Riefenstahl was arguably the Nazis’ most famous filmmaker. With Triumph of the Will, she crafted the definitive propaganda image of the “Third Reich.” That image, like Riefenstahl’s legacy, continues to resonate. Drawing on new archival materials from the filmmaker’s estate, Veiel’s powerful film explores the aesthetic, psychological, historical, and political dimensions of Riefenstahl’s filmmaking, German fascism, and its aftermath.
