Join Doo Won Han, Ph.D. candidate in Industrial and Operations Engineering at the University of Michigan, for a seminar on advancing trustworthy and human-centered autonomy in the context of automated vehicles. Doo Won will discuss his research on how drivers interact with vehicle automation, focusing on behavioral responses and trust calibration during takeover scenarios. He will present a comprehensive framework for evaluating takeover performance and explore how different system errors influence driver trust and behavior. Extending beyond on-road driving, his work also examines external human–machine interfaces (eHMIs) for automated guided vehicles in industrial environments, emphasizing transparency and safety in human–automation collaboration.
