"A Breath of Fresh Air" Guided Nature Experience--April
Connect with Nature to Support Your Mental Well-being on April 15
UPDATE 4/15: In-Person Session Cancelled--Join Brief Mindfulness Session on Zoom:
Due to weather, we are cancelling the outdoor "A Breath of Fresh Air" activity on April 15th, 2026 at 4:00pm. Although we won't have a chance to practice together in nature this afternoon, we wanted to offer an alternate activity to support you with taking a brief pause in your day. You are invited to join a virtual guided mindful meditation session from 4:00-4:30pm.

Join fellow staff, students, and faculty for an energizing break which will introduce the positive effects of being in nature on our social and emotional well-being. With facilitator guidance, participants will:
-Practice mindful attention and appreciation for the natural environment.
-Learn how to refresh your energy and reduce stress by being outside.
-Cultivate a sense of awe, curiosity, connection, and wonder.
-Learn how to use the Nature Rx resources in the Michigan App.
Wednesday, April 15, 2026
4-4:45 p.m.
Meeting location: Ingalls Mall-South (the area between the School of Kinesiology and the Chemistry Building). Look for guides near the Diag flagpole holding "A Breath of Fresh Air" signs.
An additional session will be held on June 3--sign up for more information.
We will learn how to appreciate nature in all its forms, and this session will be held rain, snow, or shine. Please note that this session requires moving or walking outdoors over a distance of approximately a quarter-mile. Options will be provided for those who wish to sit or explore at their own pace and ability. Please wear comfortable attire and dress for the weather. This event may be cancelled in the case of hazardous weather conditions--we will contact you if this is the case.
