SMTD faculty composer Bright Sheng presents his own works, A Night at the Chinese Opera, Three Chinese Love Songs, Seven Tunes Heard in China, and the Third String Quartet. They are juxtaposed with studies in orientalism by Maurice Ravel and Bela Bartok. Sheng is joined by fellow SMTD faculty Stephen Shipps and Logan Skelton, the Phoenix Ensemble, DMA cellist Paul Dwyer, and guest artist Jennifer Goltz.
