Global Warming & Climate Change.
Class meets Mondays, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. September 16 - October 28 at TSRC. $40.
Using videos and actual climate data as a basis for group discussion, we will develop a clearer understanding of the source of the controversy. The discussion will then shift to what, if anything, can be done to alleviate warming and how this might be accomplished nationally and internationally, in view of what happened with the Kyoto Protocol. Taught by Sidney Kaufman.
A Purse of Her Own.
Class meets Mondays, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. September 16 - October 21, at Glacier Hills, 1200 Earhart Road. No class on October 7. $35
This class concerns 19th century women. It is based on Susan Nenadic's research for her book, “A Purse of her Own”, which uses the women of Washtenaw County as examples against a national backdrop. Although the book deals with women’s employment, it also provides information concerning marriage, divorce, health and education. You are encouraged to read the book which will be available in class at cost ($25), but there will be power point presentations as well. Ms. Nenadic teaches adult learning classes and lectures throughout southeastern Michigan.
