A musical and visual arts evening that celebrates how a mythical creature--the Asian-inspired dragon--is muse to art and melody. A visual storytelling of the artist, Zhen Guo's, career trajectory interspersed with music selections from the Chinese Music Ensemble and performances on the Korean p'iri with Sunhong Kim and with Xiaodong Hottmann on Chinese erhu and zither. Just in time to help usher in the Asian Lunar New Year!

This is part of the U-M "Dancing with the Dragon" program celebrating the artistry, tradition, and collective spirit embodied by the dragon in Asian tradition—an iconic symbol of inclusivity, strength, and courage. Students, faculty, and volunteers will be co-creating a striking full-body NEW dragon sculpture from recycled materials for use in the traditional "dragon dance." scheduled later in the season.
