This continuing program prepares participants for HD live broadcasts of 10 Metropolitan Opera performances during the 2013-2014 season. They will be shown in local movie theaters. In the week preceding a performance, the course will enrich the experience with presentations and discussions of related opera performances, feature and documentary films and guest lectures. Opera enthusiasts and novices are all equally welcome. Dr. Richard Adelman is an Emeritus Professor of Biological Chemistry and a Past Director of the Institute of Gerontology at the UM Medical School.
