International Student Career Series - How to Build Your Network

You can’t start networking unless you know where to begin! For many international students, the idea of approaching and interacting with professionals in the U.S. can feel intimidating — and that’s okay. In this interactive workshop, you’ll learn practical strategies forfinding and connecting with contacts, as well as how to conduct informational interviews. These conversations let you explore careers and companies by hearing directly from professionals about their day-to-day work — without the pressure of a formal job interview.Networking is all about building genuine relationships, and often those connections can lead to exciting opportunities down the road. This session is open to all students. For a head start, check out our website before attending to familiarize yourself with the basics. This event's information is shown in Handshake as well as on the Happening @ Michigan calendar so that it will be seen by a larger number of U-M Students. You can only register to attend this event within Handshake.
