Webster MFA Reading Series: Micah Muhammad and Jennifer Nessel

Organized by the Helen Zell Writers’ Program and presented in partnership with UMMA, the Mark Webster Reading Series showcases the work of second-year MFA students in fiction and poetry.

Micah Muhammad is a writer and educator from Clarksville, Tennessee. The winner of The Pinch's 2022 Literary Award for Poetry and a Pushcart Prize, they have work published in Gulf Coast, HAD, fifth wheel press, and elsewhere. They write about religious deconstruction, Blackness, gender, and (sometimes) Oprah.

Jennifer Nessel is a writer from Pennsylvania. Their work has been supported by GrubStreet and can be found at The Southern Review, Cleaver, and elsewhere.

Friends, family, and members of the Ann Arbor community are welcome to attend the readings both in-person at UMMA or live on Zoom. This series is free and open to the public.
