Established with the generous support of alumna Penny W. Stamps, the Speaker Series brings respected emerging and established artists/designers from a broad spectrum of media to the School to conduct a public lecture and engage with students, faculty, and the larger University and Ann Arbor communities.

John Marshall is a principal with Cezanne Charles in rootoftwo, LLC a hybrid design + art studio that creates hybrid design projects; social objects; experiences; and works for the public realm. rootoftwo's experimental objects and experiences attempt to disrupt and expose existing systems through humor, play, interaction and participation to create a condition where we can perceive ourselves; the here and now; and the future, differently. They have presented work in Australia, Brazil, China, Denmark, Japan, Macedonia, the Netherlands, Spain, the UK and the US.
