Hands-on accessibility workshop
Making digital syllabi and assignments accessible
Experts from the Disability Equity Office--Serena Irani, Jessica McCuaig, Phil Deaton, and perhaps a few others--will join us to provide hands-on assistance. The facilitators envision setting up two different spaces in the room: one space for providing more structured learning (e.g., a walk-through demonstrating how to set up headings, lists, tables, alt text in Microsoft Word) and another space where you can work on your documents, ask questions in real time, and receive technical, content-specific help from experts.
If you're interested, the facilitators can also provide assistance with using Canvas and the Panorama accessibility tool.
So that our facilitators can tailor their guidance to department-specific needs or concerns, Serena has prepared a very brief pre-workshop survey form where you can pose questions or request specific forms of guidance: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScbwexlAPe1XTOm_els6HOMFjvcnAM2EOcBYObxZSH7xjbH5w/viewform?usp=publish-editor
