Hand, Voice & Vision: Artist Talk & Reception
Celebrating the exhibit "Hand, Voice & Vision: Artists' Books from Women's Studio Workshop," U-M alumnae and artist Toby Millman discusses her experiences completing a residency at the Women's Studio Workshop to make her book "Facts on the Ground."
The evening begins with a reception in the Street Gallery on the first floor of the Art & Architecture building at 4 p.m., followed by the talk in Room 1180 of the Duderstadt Center at 5 p.m. Refreshments and free, full-color catalogs of the exhibit will be given away at the reception on a first come, first serve basis.
The exhibit "Hand, Voice & Vision: Artists' Books from Women's Studio Workshop" features artists’ books by thirty-six artists published over thirty years by Women’s Studio Workshop. Curated by Kathleen Walkup, Professor of Book Art and director of the Book Arts Program at Mills College, the exhibit is a comprehensive retrospective featuring some of the most influential contemporary book artists in America.
