Professor Porter-Szucs will describe how Polish statesman Józef Piłsudski navigated the tumultuous ideological battles that came with the end of WWI. The lecture will examine how Piłsudski's greatest skill was actually his ability to compromise and negotiate, contradicting the legends of his implacability and decisiveness.
