Even after college, gaining employment and navigating the job market can be pretty challenging, especially for autistic and otherwise disabled individuals. Here, we (hope to) provide a space for students to learn and gain useful support in transitioning from college to a long-term job and for faculty and staff to learn insider information about the challenges facing autistic individuals seeking employment.

Discussion questions will be led by participants, but applicable subjects may include how to avoid or deal with both autistic or workplace burnout, how to navigate the interview process, how to create work life balance with a disability that can sometimes cause excess fatigue, etc.

Our panelists will include a professor in the social sciences, an advocate and legal professional, a social worker, and an educator in STEM/the biological sciences.

This event is structured to appeal to anyone ranging from autistic students, faculty and staff seeking to support autistic students, disability advocates, or anyone who just wants to learn about the challenges facing autistic individuals seeking to enter the workforce.
