Reducing Barriers to Mental Health Services for Student Veterans and Their Families
Adjustment Matters
As part of the IHA's Adjustment Matters panel discussions, the University of Michigan Psychological Clinic, and invited speakers, will provide a panel presentation on the unique psychosocial issues faced by returning military veterans in university settings.
The discussion will focus on cultural and environmental adjustment, psychological transition, residual psychosocial impact of military service, impact on intimate relationships, and readjustment to family life. The panel will address identification of persistent readjustment problems as well as effective psychosocial interventions for common psychological concerns. Experts will engage in a community discussion around reducing barriers to services for veterans and their families, and will provide information about available services at the University of Michigan and in the Ann Arbor area.
This event will run from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. on November 7, 2013.
