Known for his innovative recital programming, engaging lecture-recitals, and advocacy of new music, Nick Phillips has been described by The New York Times as an "able and persuasive advocate" of new music, and has built a reputation as an artist that exhibits a commanding technique and sensitive, thoughtful interpretations. Program to include new music written especially for Phillips by composers such as Mohammed Fairouz, John Griffin and Joel Puckett.
