BME 2026-2027 Declaration Sessions

These sessions are only for students eligible and ready to declare BME as their major. For students interested in BME but not yet eligible or ready to declare, please meet with one of our Peer Advisors to learn more about our program!What to expect: You are signing up for a group declaration session for the U-M Biomedical Engineering Undergraduate Program. All sessions will be held in person at LBME (view map). In this meeting we will go over the curriculum, discuss your 4 year plan, review the BME Student Advising Agreement, and share the various resources you can engage in as part of the BME department. Please bring a personal computing device (laptop or tablet). A phone will not suffice. In order to officially declare, students must:Attend the full registration session.By the end of the session, complete a draft of their 4-year graduation plan and send it to [email protected] the end of the session, complete the BME Advising Agreement form.If students do not attend the full session and/or do not complete items b and c, they will either need to register for a new declaration appointment or submit items b and c to [email protected] as soon as possible. Failing to complete these items will delay your declaration!If you need to cancel or reschedule, please do so within Sessions@Michigan so students on the waitlist may attend (if applicable). Eligibility:Students are eligible to Declare the BME Major after completing at least one full term of courses on the U-M Ann Arbor campus (we do not declare students early).Have an overall U-M GPA of 2.0 or better in courses taken at the U-M Ann Arbor campus and are in good standing.Have completed or earned credit by exam or transfer for one or more courses in each of these categories:Calculus (e.g. Math 115, 116, 156)Calculus-based physics lectures (e.g. Physics 140, 160) or chemistry lectures (e.g. Chemistry 130)Required engineering courses (Engr 100, 101, 151)Contact Us: If you have further questions about this meeting, please email [email protected].
