Make it Accessible: InDesign to PDF Best Practices
Join this workshop to learn how to build accessibility into your Adobe InDesign documents from the start, shifting from retroactive remediation to a “born accessible” workflow. We’ll briefly discuss key accessibility regulations and what they mean for your documents, then cover design decisions that make a big impact, such as color contrast, font choice, layout, and content organization.
The core of this session will be a guided demonstration of InDesign features that support an accessible output, including text box threading, image anchors and alt text, paragraph styles export options, and much more. We’ll also show you how to export your content to a tagged PDF and provide resources for doing final checks and clean up in Acrobat.
As a participant, you’ll receive access to a sample InDesign file to practice applying accessibility features along with additional resources for continued learning. There will also be time for Q&A.
American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting services and Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART) captioning services will be provided. If you need additional accommodations to participate in this webinar, please email the ADA Coordinator at [email protected].
