Introduction to Non-Apparent Disabilities
This presentation introduces non-apparent disabilities—conditions that can significantly affect daily life, even when they are not immediately apparent to others. Participants will explore common misconceptions and the unique forms of ableism that people with non-apparent disabilities may experience, including doubt, stigma, and barriers to access and support. The session will also focus on moving from awareness to action.
Participants will learn practical strategies for supporting people with non-apparent disabilities and for normalizing accessibility in everyday environments.
American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting services and Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART) captioning services will be provided. If you need additional accommodations to participate in this webinar, please email the ADA Coordinator at [email protected].
