Celebrate the opening of "Soundscapes of Childhood," an exhibit of student work completed in the course Reading and Writing Landscapes of Childhood. Remarks by Dr. Elizabeth Goodenough, course instructor, and Angie Oehrli, children's literature librarian, will be at 4:30 p.m.
Students in the course read several Great Lakes-inspired children's books, wrote environmental autobiographies, and created audio-walks inspired by the Nichols Arboretum landscape as they studied questions of how stories of home and childhood play shape meanings of “nature” and personal interpretations of environment.
